Why limit your racing experience to a series of left-hand turns? Road racing shatters the tedious oval cliche'. These events have been configured in customized parks, airport runways and temporary circuits located on public streets.
In 1933, the Collier sons – Barron, Miles and Samuel – founded the Automobile Racing Club of America (now the Sports Car Club of America). Many of the early SCCA events were held on abandoned air force bases. By 1962, SCCA had events at Daytona, Sebring, Bridgehampto and Watkins Glen.
