The ON/OFF switch is on the front. Slide it right to turn the laser beam on. This laser produces a line rather than a dot. It has both a horizontal and a vertical line. It self-levels so you will see the beam move around for a few seconds until it stabilizes. If you bump the laser/stand it will again move around until it re-settles.

The laser will sit on top if the scissor stand and self-level when on a fairly level surface. To make fine adjustments turn the stands knob until the horizontal laser reaches the height needed. Major height adjustment can be quickly made by setting the scissor stand on top a book or block of wood.

NOTE: There is a limit to the amount it will self-level. If the laser beam is flashing rather than steady you have exceeded this and the beam will not be level. Adjust the base to level.

LEVEL YOUR FIRST SCALE PAD

Start with any one of the 4 pads. You will use this pad to set a reference plane that the other 3 pad height will be adjusted to. Set the leveler bar on top of this pad with the thick part overhanging the edge(see figure A). Use the yellow “bullseye” bubble level on the leveler bar to adjust your pad until it is level.

After leveling the pad itself, set the laser on the scissor stand in a position where the laser can shine on all four pads (and also the chassis height targets that will be used to set ride height later.) Turn the laser on and adjust the laser height so the beam aligns with the silver pad height line on the end of the pad leveler bar. The laser’s horizontal line is now a reference line for you to raise the remaining pads-- do not adjust this horizontal line for the rest of the procedure. Pad heights will be adjusted to the height of this line.

DO NOT MOVE THE LASER’S STAND AFTER THIS FIRST PAD IS ALIGNED (If the laser needs moved, you can rotate the laser itself on top of the stand without moving the stand.)

LEVEL THE OTHER 3 PADS THE SAME WAY

Move the leveler bar to each of the other 3 pads and use it to first level the pad, then raise or lower the pads until the silver pad height line on the end of the pad leveler bar is centered on the horizontal laser beam. Now that the pad surfaces have been made level with the horizontal laser beam, you can put your car on the pads and check your chassis ride height using this beam as “ground level.”

PLACE THE CHASSIS HEIGHT TARGETS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR’S FRAME WHERE YOU NORMALLY MEASURE YOUR CHASSIS HEIGHTS.

Targets will be held on by magnets and should face the laser. With the laser turned on, note the reading of the horizontal beam on the target’s scale.

WARNING: DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE LASER BEAM.
SERIOUS EYE DAMAGE MAY OCCUR.
